Helen Joan Gens

Helen Joan Green- Gens a native of Louisiana and a longtime resident of Norwood, La. Passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lafayette & Zelma Green, her brother Leland Green, her husband, Gary Gens, sister and brother-in-law Muriell & Carl Frye, son, Al Moore and her granddaughter, Joanna Everett Wright. She is survived by her significant other, Harry Pearson, her brother, Lyn E Green, daughter and son-in-law Donna Joan and Wayne Everett, daughter and son-in-law Yvonne Gens and Ben Roland, son and daughter-in-law Raymond and Annette Gens. As well as her grandchildren Jessica Rose Lancaster, Dwayne Everett as well as her great-grandchildren Ryan, Abigail, Bryan, Bubba, Andrew, Izzy, Cade, Collin, Bella, Chloe, Colin, Emma, Brinick and Kavin. As well as several nieces and nephews. Being a devout Christian and a lifelong practicing member of the Baptist Church she instilled strong Christian values in all her children, grandchildren and extended family. Helen Joan enjoyed a full life of family, friends and adventure. She loved to travel, tend to her roses as well as watch her chickens. One of her interesting hobbies was that for many years she owned horses and competed in English Hunter/Jumper competitions. In addition, she also owned and raced horses for many years. However, her greatest treasure was her family. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation which will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70815 on Thursday, Dec 10th from 10:00am - Noon. Funeral and Burial services will follow immediately.
