Gregory Norman Bilyeu

Ecc. 3: 1,2 & 4. Born, February 10, 1952 in St. Louis, Mo. the eldest child of James Norman Bilyeu and Laura LaRue Rustin Bilyeu. Greg died May 4th after suffering for years with Parkinson's Disease. Greg lived in St. Louis, Sedalia, Mo., Jefferson City, Mo. Des Moines, Iowa, before becoming a "southerner" after moving to Monroe, La. He diligently worked hard and obtained an Eagle Scout award. He graduated from Neville High School in 1970. Attended Northeast University in Monroe before moving to Baton Rouge to LSU where he graduated in 1974. Greg was in ATO fraternity. He graduated from LSU law school in 1978. After practicing in BR for several years he moved to the quaint town Bellingham, Washington to practice maritime law where he grew to love the scenic beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Greg loved exercising, history and music (he could have won Jeopardy!). He loved his cat Raja! and loved The Hobbit book series, the super heroes, Harry Potter and Bruce Lee. He was passionate about Japanese Martial Arts and obtained a black belt in 1989, and was a member of Capital City Karate club and enjoyed his friendships he made there. Greg loved his classic cars; his BMW's and his "children" his two Jaguars 1970 & 1971; and most likely they were as expensive to maintain. Greg was a kind and loving soul, witty, quiet, reserved and private like his mother. Being the older brother he was quick to step in to try to assist any of us with legal, financial, or especially nutritional advice! It's not quantity when it comes to friends, it is quality and Greg had the best with friends Jim and Pan Evers from Washington. Having been friends since Jim taught him history at Northeast; they convinced him to move to the Pacific Northwest. When he moved back Baton Rouge due to illness he received weekly letters, cards and always pictures from the Evers; and Leo Berggreen coworker, close friend and his personal attorney, who offered daily prayers and frequently checked on Greg and handled legal issues. Survived by sister Carol Trimble and husband Chris; brother Randall Bilyeu and wife Rhonda, sister Amy Bilyeu and brother David Bilyeu. Nieces and nephews; Tasha Callahan and husband Travis, Kristen Chapmand and husband Will; James Devall and wife Angela; Natalie Johansson and husband Kurt; Joshua Barber; Rachel Moore and husband Doug; Lindsey Bilyeu; and Evann Bilyeu; 6 great nieces and 3 great nephews. Memorial donations to Michael J Fox Parkinson's Foundation; or The Pearl of Jamestown, Baton Rouge. Pallbearers: Chris Trimble, Randall Bilyeu, David Bilyeu, Will Chapman, Jake Devall and Joshua Barber. Honorary Pallbearers: Jim Evers, Leo Berggreen and Robert Earl Berggreen. We like to mention some of the wonderful people that helped us tremendously on this jorney; Shirley Charles, Ella Lollis, Bridget Johnson and Natalie Johnson for the dedication and years of helping with Greg. Thank you also to his wonderful Neurologist Dr. Rebecca Whiddon whose time, concern and care was so appreciated.
