Glory Margaret Montz

"Glory Margaret Montz, a native of Gramercy and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the age of 92. She was a peace maker and a fantastic seamstress. Glory also enjoyed painting porcelain and collecting stamps. She is survived by daughters Sibyl Guidry (husband Russell), Doby Murphy, and Gay Bergeron (husband Joe);  grandchildren Dean and Kelly Vicknair, Troy Wofford, Mickey Guidry, Dawn Todd, and Tiah Alphonso; and one brother Louis Matherne, Jr. Preceded in death by her husband Garland A. Montz; son Gerard J. Montz;  parents Mr. and Mrs. Louis Matherne, Sr.; granddaughter Kama Bergeron; son-in-law Frank Murphy; and 8 siblings. Pallbearers will be Dean Vicknair, Troy Wofford, Mickey Guidry, Kelly Vicknair, Johnny Adams, and Matt Todd. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Rabenhorst East, 11000 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 5PM until 9PM and visitation will resume on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd., from 9:30AM until 10:30AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30AM. Interment at Roselawn Memorial Park will follow.
