So sorry to hear about Gene's death.  I live across the street in his neighborhood, and just realized that I had not seen him out in several weeks.  He was the guy who always kept an eye on things in our neighborhood, and a good guy.  Gene will be missed.

Such a shock suddenly losing our dear neighbor of the past 30 years. Our cul-de-sac will never be the same. We spent untold hundreds of hours over the years standing in our yards and talking about LSU football and baseball, birds, flowers, politics, the Oak Villa development, food and more. Gene was a strong yet gentle giant and the perfect neighbor. We will miss him terribly. Ronnie and I extend our sincere sympathy to Julie and family.

I remember you Dad from back at Ethyl corp. He was and election and worked with my Dad back them. I was a young welder at Ethyl and remember Gene coming over to the house to visit my Dad. My Dad and Gene used to go fishing from time to time. I will miss the stories he told. May God Bless your family at this time.

I'm so sad to hear of Mr. Gene's passing. He taught me how to play softball, ride a jet ski, and fish, just to name a few things. He was always patient and good-hearted, hauling Julie and I all over! He was like a second father to me growing up. One of the kindest men I knew. Prayers to all his family and especially to Julie.

I am very sad to hear about Gene's passing. I was his next door neighbor as a child. Growing up on Kelvin Street was a great experience.  Having the Wilsons as neighbors was wonderful.  Gene was just a great guy.  My condolences to Ray and the rest of his family. Randy and Carla Carruth.

Great comfort to my cousin,  Julie and her family at this devastating time. I am in shock and disbelief that my Uncle Wormy has passed. My smile comes briefly knowing he is reunited in Heaven with so many family and friends. Uncle Gene will be at the biggest fishing hole in Heaven, I will look for him there in my future. Until then, Uncle Gene, I will cherish earthly memories of you and love you always.
