Freddie Maurice Burton, Sr. passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021, at the age of 93. Fred served in the US Navy and the Merchant Marines. He was a very hard worker in anything and everything that he did. But most of all, Fred had a kind heart and he never met a stranger. Fred is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Ann Joyce Courville Burton; children, Mary Marsh, Glenn Burton and wife, Cherie, and Freddie Burton, Jr. and wife, Kai; bonus daughter, Pamela Hodge; grandchildren, Christopher, Eric, Jeremy, Kimberly, Hayden and Cade; bonus grandchildren, Preston and Gavin; several great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members. Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Will and Minnie Morton; and eight siblings. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 11:00AM until the time of funeral services at 2:00PM. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
