Florence J. Samson

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his Saints.” Psalms 49:8 She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at her home, surrounded by family, at the age of 82. She was a native of Oscar, resident of Erwinville and a former long-time resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Her energetic spirit, her acceptance of everyone and her humor brought happiness and enjoyment to all she met. She is survived by her daughters, Catherine Moore and husband, Jimmy, Judy Diel and husband, Kraemer, Peggy Reid and husband, Byron, and Lisa LaMotte and husband, Randy; grandchildren, Erica, Jimmy, Daniel, Jacob, Emily, Joseph, Elliot, Conor, Tyler and Olivia; great-grandchildren, Kelsey and twin boys on the way; and brother, Oliver Jarreau, Jr. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Samson, Sr.; son, Charles R. Samson, Jr.; parents, Lena and Oliver Jarreau; and brother, Lester Jarreau. Visitation will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 12369 LA-416, Lakeland, LA, on Monday, February 12, 2018, from 9:30AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM.
