Ferris Joseph Parent, 85, a native of Carville and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, who served as a signalman on the USS Wedderburn in the Pacific Theater. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Friday, April 23, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Saturday, April 24, from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife, Grace Early Parent; sons, Dale Parent, Wayne Parent and Randy Parent; brother, Elmo James Parent; and sister, Janice Argrave Reno. Preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Thomas Parent; parents, John and Angelle Parent; brothers, Leon Parent Sr., Herman P. Parent and Vernon Parent; and sister, Myrla P. Boudreaux.
