Evelyn S. Champagne, born December 4, 1925, to the late Wallace and Rachel Sicard, passed away on September 26, 2023, at Harvest Manor in Denham Springs. A long-time resident of Baton Rouge, Evelyn is survived by her son, Richard Champagne, and wife, Darla, and her daughter, Nelwyn Davis, and husband, Arthur. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother (Maw-Maw), great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Oneil J. Champagne Jr., sister, Yvonne Madere, and brothers, Wallace Sicard Jr. and Harold Lloyd Sicard.
Evelyn was a member of the United Methodist Church and served at Evangeline UMC in Baton Rouge as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a leader of a campfire girls club and invested in the lives of young girls. In her later years, she attended Bethany Church in Baker, Louisiana.
Evelyn enjoyed a variety of creative activities including ceramics. All the grandkids had the opportunity to paint her creations. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish with her husband and son. Although her time on earth has ended, we rejoice that she is with her Lord and Savior in Heaven. She will be greatly missed.
