Erika Hidalgo

Erika Hidalgo, 41, died peacefully October 10, 2014. She was born in Opelousas, LA, and was a resident of Baton Rouge. Erika was a bright light to all. Her caring and compassionate spirit touched all she met. Her love for people and animals was truly a gift. She was passionate about her family and friends, her dogs Elvis and Baby Girl and an avid fan of LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. She is survived by her mother Cheryl Fontenot Bonfanti, stepfather John Bonfanti; her father and stepmother Ned and Melanie Lewis Hidalgo, her dearest companions Baby Girl and Elvis, special cousins Brittany Mahan and Becky and Brooke Landry. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her sister Desiree’ Hidalgo, grandparents Hilda (Teda) and Royson (Son) Fontenot, Amy B. and Howard Hidalgo, uncle Ray Fontenot and cousin Chandler Luke. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 5pm until 9pm and continuing on Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 11am until time of service at 12pm.
