A native of Plaquemine and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died Saturday, May 10, 2008, in Baton Rouge. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann Campbell and husband Joe, and Liz Lord and husband John, all of Mandeville; son, David Bowman, of Washington, D.C.; five grandchildren, Catherine Campbell Brown, Joe Campbell III, Ashley Belding, Catherine "Scout" Bowman and Allain "Alli" Bowman; and six great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Shannon, Caitlin, Erin, Joey IV and James. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Thomas J. "TJ" Bowman; and a son, Thomas J. "Jeff" Bowman Jr. She was the last surviving child of nine children of Albert L. and Edna Grace of Plaquemine. Edna was a warm-hearted loving person who never met a stranger. She loved life with great passion and was known for her gentle spirit, compassion and deep love for her family and friends. She was born and raised in Plaquemine, where she attended elementary school, and later received her license in floristry. In her business career, she managed Grace Florist, the family business in Plaquemine, and later worked for the Louisiana Department of Education and the state of Department of Corrections in Baton Rouge. Edna was a devout parishioner for many years of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. She particularly cherished her close friends over the years, including The Busy Bodies (her exercise friends), The Lunch Bunch (longtime neighborhood friends) and her Tripoley Gang (friends who gathered monthly to play cards and socialize.). She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Visitation at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 2250 Main St., on Wednesday, May 14, from 11 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. Interment at Roselawn Memorial Park, 4045 North St. There will be a reception at The Women's Club, 259 East Blvd., after the graveside service.
