Doris"Dottie"Terrell Brown

Doris Mae Brown, 81, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2013. Born on Sept. 30, 1931, she married Thurman L. Brown on July 29, 1950. They were married for 58 years. Dottie was the baby girl of her family, having three brothers and one sister predecease her. She is survived by her children, Louie Brown and wife Paulette, Susette Morgan and friend Scott Vizinat, Annette Black and husband Charles, and Leslie Brown and wife Kelly; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and many dear nieces and nephews. Momma loved her family and never wanted anyone to leave when they came to her house. She enjoyed her yard and flowers and her faithful dogs she has had through the years. She worked at the telephone company back when there were switchboards and party lines. Her love and talent for music and singing inspired her children and each one learned at least one instrument. Dottie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thurman L. Brown; mother, Grace Terrell; father, Hardy Terrell; and son-in-law, Larry Morgan. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East chapel, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Thursday, May 16th, from 6 pm until 8 pm and resumes on Friday, May 17th, from 9 am until religious services at 10 am led by Bro. Ron Lowery of Galilee Baptist Church. Toni Black will sing special music. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
