A retired mortgage processor for many years, Debbie died at 12:55 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at her home in Baton Rouge. She was 54 and a native of Crowley. A memorial service will be held at Ellis Church of Crowley at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 11. Survived by her daughter, Kristy Dickens, of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Nell Stephens, of Natchitoches, Charlotte Hewitt, of Marble Falls, Texas, and Jackie Viator, of Watson; brother, Norman Reed, of Iota; and grandson, Brian Tyler Dickens. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Pearl Reed; and a sister, Joy Reed Gravois. "Gabby" loved to talk and never met a stranger. She will be missed by all who knew her.
