Charles Douglas Beals, PhD, passed away on May 25, 2022, at home. Charles, “Chuck,” was born on June 11, 1939, on a farm in Pana, Illinois. He was a 1961 graduate of the University of Illinois and received his PhD from Michigan State in Chemical Engineering in 1966. Chuck was a founder of Engineers & Constructors International in the year 1977. He has remained a vital part of the business ever since. His love and compassion for not only his work but also his employees is remarkable. Chuck loved more than anything spending time with his beloved family and grandchildren. He also loved to travel, play golf, dance, and have a good wine with a nice prime rib. He is survived by his daughter, Brooke Beals Beach and husband, Michael Beach of Alexandria, Virginia; his son, Bryce Douglas Beals of Baton Rouge; and grandchildren, Jonah Beals, Grace Beach, Charles Beach, and Graham Beach; and brother, Dr. Ronald and Elaine Beals. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Ester Beals of Decatur, IL, and sister, Barbara Beals McNeil. Also preceded in death by infant grandsons, Matthew Beach and Francis Beach of Alexandria, VA. The celebration of life will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 10230 Mollylea Drive, Baton Rouge, 70815, with Rev. Tom Cook and Rev. Katie Montgomery Mears officiating. Reception at the church to follow. Chuck had a huge heart and a love for giving to others. In memory of him, please donate to the Charity of your choice.
