He most recently worked for Ryder Systems Logistics and ATT Communications. Chad is a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and earned a B.S. degree in Health and Nutrition from Louisiana State University.
In his young years, his first career goal was becoming a pediatrician since he loved being around children, helping them, and showing them he cared. Later on, Chad thought teaching and coaching would become his passion, however, as life would have it during his college days, he decided that success would come in the health field as a dietician having been so influenced by both grandmothers, Gran and MyMy.
Chad had a great sense of humor, he was funny and mischievous, and when he was cast as “the Lawyer” in his high school senior play, he played it up and turned on his genuine charm. When he flashed his pearly whites with a big warm smile – you couldn’t help but want to know him.
Like his dad and brother, he enjoyed all sports, especially football. He was an athlete and spent nearly everyday at the gym, exercising and walking. Chad had a passion for fishing; it may have been his best therapy just sitting alone with a fishing pole on the water. At the top of his lists of likes, he enjoyed watching episodes of Seinfeld and the TV show South Park. In life, Chad sided with the unconventional, truly related to satire, and took time to listen to the words and lyrics of music.
Chad just wanted the world to be a better place with him in it.
Chad is survived by his loving mother, Phyllis Folse Darensbourg, his brother Daniel, and his sister-in-law Kathryn Levert Darensbourg, his niece, Emery Elizabeth, and his dearest grandmother Eileen D. Folse, and Coco the family morkie. He is preceded in death by his best buddy, his father, Gary Wayne Darensbourg, his paternal grandparents, Louis U. and Rita R. Darensbourg, and his maternal grandfather, Milton ”Pops” Folse.
He is also survived by his Aunts and Uncles, each and every one meant so much to him for their years of unconditional love and guidance; he regarded and respected their continuous encouragement, their civic example, and their strong faith.
Close to his heart were his dear cousins, Kelly Boudreaux, Brooke and Aaron Folse, Alaina Fortenberry and Maggie Potts, Jared and Raya Llorens, Trevor, Travis, and Edgar Chase. His closest friends were family to him as he enjoyed being apart of their lives especially, Jamie and Jennifer Mumphrey, Ricky Hennessey and Randi Hayward, and his sweetheart and bestie Laura Cason Scarle. No doubt, Emery Elizabeth, his niece was the joy of his life.
During this time of tremendous grief and sorrow, his family would ask for all to reflect on the meaning of this Season of Advent and Christmas and in doing so remember that our greatest gift is to show kindness to one another.
There has been an outpouring of support and sympathy from so many people and the family wishes to extend sincere heartfelt appreciation. Any donations in Chad’s memory may be made to St. George Catholic Church, Baton Rouge, La.
A private prayer service and Internment by St. George Church Pastor Fr. Paul Yi will be held at Green Oaks Memorial Park and Cemetery.
