Carol Ann (Braud) Bell, Age 83, Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, December 1st, 2022. She was a devout and loving woman who served as a founding member of Sherwood Presbyterian that later became Faith Presbyterian Church, she also served as an elder and deacon of Faith Presbyterian, was a moderator of Presbyterian women, as well as a founding member of Louisiana Presbytery. She acted as Cursillo/Pilgrimage moderator for LPC3 in the role of secretary and treasurer and sang at many nursing homes and funerals.
As a Baton Rouge native, she will be remembered as a mentor to many and is quoted by the community that “We are better because she was in our lives”.
Her parents Wildred (Cherry) and Dorothy Braud were known for owning Braud’s Potato Chips (Cherry’s) which she later took over operation with her brother. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe Kenneth Bell, her brother Marzelle Braud and survived by her many loving family members. Including her children: Paula Swilley (Scott), Brenda Cothern (Keith), Donna Harper (Harold), Jo Kay Tullos (Wayne); her grandchildren: Lindsay Bailey, Lauren Sevier, Leah Miley, Christopher Cothern, Hailey Bass, Luke Harper, Hannah Perkins, Josiah Harper, Matthew Tullos, Jessie Tullos, Dawson Tullos; and eleven beautiful great grandchildren.
Carol was known for her bright personality that enlivened any space she was in; as well as her selflessness and generosity of spirit. While her loss will be felt deeply by many, her legacy of faith, family, and love will linger for many generations to come. Her family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Hospice in His Care and Sunrise at Siegen Assisted Living Facility for their loving care.
For those wishing to attend a celebration of her life, services will be held on Tuesday, December 6th, 2022 at GreenOaks Memorial Park and Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12PM-2PM with her burial to follow.
