A local lawyer and former East Baton Rouge Parish district attorney, he died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at his home in Baton Rouge. He was 76 and a native of Shreveport. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., Monday, Dec. 6, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on Tuesday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Gerald Burns. Entombment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Julia Taulman Bush; three daughters, Sallie Bush Moore and husband Jeramie, Karen Bush Hubicz and husband Jim, and Kathy Bush McHugh and husband Jess; a son, Bryan E. Bush III and wife Tanie; 10 grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Anna Kathryn, Gerrett Davis and Sawyer Moore, Lauren, James and Brandon Hubicz, Michael, Jessica and Mary Kate McHugh, and Olivia Bush; a sister, Jo Bush Chandler; and sister-in-law, Anne Johnson. Preceded in death by his mother, Sallie Mat Clingman Bush; father, Bryan Edward Bush Sr.; sister, Eoline Bush King; and brother, Arthur Clingman Bush. Pallbearers will be Gerrett Davis, Brandon Hubicz, James Hubicz Jr., Michael McHugh, Jess McHugh, Jim Hubicz, Jeramie Moore, David Johnson and Herb Golden. The family wishes to offer special thanks to the staff of Regional Hospice. He was a graduate of Southern Methodist University, where he played baseball and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order and graduated from the LSU School of Law. He was a member of the Baton Rouge and Louisiana Bar associations, Multiple Sclerosis Society and St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
