Betty Jean (Williams) White, age 84, of Baton Rouge, passed away gently on February 22, 2022. Born in Bogalusa on July 5, 1937, she was raised near Bush, LA on Money Hill. After graduating from Covington High School in 1955, she married (1957) and moved to Baton Rouge. Once both her children were in school, she studied to become a licensed practical nurse, and worked for a GP and then a pediatrician group until her retirement. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, Nana, and great-grandmother who was always there for her family and friends when needed. She loved gardening, traveling, cooking (mmm, her dressing and brownies were the best), crocheting/knitting, and the color red (just ahead of purple & gold).
She is preceded in death by her parents (Melvin & Bessie Williams) and her younger brother (Rodney Williams). She leaves behind to cherish memories her husband of 64 years, William Paul White; a son, Kevin White (Patty) of Lucedale, MS; a daughter, Karen Brashier of Finlayson, MN; a brother, Dennis Williams (Connie) of Bush, LA; 4 grandchildren, Jacob Brashier (JoJo) of Watson, LA, Mackenzie White Hatch (Michael) of Atsugi Japan, Katherine Brashier Parritt (David) of Finlayson, MN, Miranda White Scalabrino (Anthony) of Raleigh, NC; 5 great-grandchildren, Emily Brashier, Makayla Brashier, Landon Brashier, Alexander Parritt, William Paul Parritt; 3 nieces, a nephew, and numerous friends from a lifetime of giving. Graveside services at Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 1:00 pm. May she rest in eternal peace.
