Bertha Elkins Lyons

Bertha E. Lyons, age 97, passed away on June 11, 2022. Bertha is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Coris Lyons “Lou Lou”; son, Carol Lyons; brothers, Nolton, Wallace, Austin, Harold, Darrell Elkins; sisters, Beatrice Boudreaux, Adeline Melancon, Ella Mae Doucet. Bertha is survived by her daughters, Patsy Smith, Tammy Walters (James); Son, Kent Lyons (Gretchen), daughter-n-law, Betty Lyons; 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren with one on the way; sisters, Sarah Duplechin of Baton Rouge, Eldine Cormier of Mansure, LA, Ethel-Lee Touchet of Holden, LA. Pallbearers will be Bertha’s grandsons, Wade, Scottie, Craig, Curt, Kent Jr., Jared Lyons, and Raymond Wolsefer, Jr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any charity of your choice. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Golden Age Nursing Home for their excellent care for the past 2 years. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 11:00am – 1:00pm with a Funeral Mass to begin at 1:00pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 865 Hatchell Ln. Denham Springs, LA 70726. Interment will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70815
