He was retired from the Times Picayune Newspaper as an advertising salesman with 25 years service. Johnny was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Baton Rouge. He died at 10:50am Thursday, October 17, 2013, at The Flannery Oaks Guest House. Johnny was 69 and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 4:00pm to 8:00pm Monday. Visitation will resume Tuesday at Lakelawn Metairie Funeral Home, 11:00am until the religious service at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Metairie Cemetery. He is survived by his wife: Harriet Brown Marx; children and step-children: Alicia Marx Murkowski&husband Jerry, Melissa Fagot&husband Eddie, Tim Brown&wife Kim, and Joey Brown&wife Sandra; grandchildren: Erica and Roman Murkowski, Brandi and Trenton Fagot, Tasha Brown and Eden Brown Bordelon&husband Brandon, Danielle Hill and Alex Brown, Andrew and Jared Brown; and four great-granddaugthers. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents: Anton, Sr.&Helen James Marx; his first wife: Andrea Marx; brother: Jairen Marx; stepson: Randy Brown; step-grandson: Brennan Brown.
