Anthony “Tony” Collette passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at the age of 92. He was a native of Melville, LA and a long-time resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Tony was the founder and president of A.N. Collette Oil Company. He was a gasoline distributor for Texaco and Shell with over 55 years of service. Prior to becoming a distributor, he was a proud owner and operator of several service stations for over 20 years. He was very passionate about his career and loved to work. Tony was also a WWII veteran and earned a Purple Heart during that time. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Tony is survived by his son, Ronnie Collette and wife, Brenda; daughter, Carol Collette Hotard; granddaughters, Dana Hotard Quebedeaux and husband, Allen, Toni Hotard Cockerham and husband, Daron, and Angie Collette Ainsworth and husband, Kurt; grandson, Dustin Collette and wife, Nikki; great-grandchildren, Brett Quebedeaux and wife, Anna Mari, Blake Cockerham and wife, Ashton, Brandi Quebedeaux, Jamie Cockerham, Kaylyn, Alex, Ryan and Lucy Ainsworth, Kate and Lindsey Collette; great-great-grandchildren, Caroline Quebedeaux and Audrey Cockerham; brothers, Sam and Mitchell Collette. Tony is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Rosie Maddie Collette; grandchild, Sharon Kay Hotard; great-grandchild, Drew Joseph Collette; parents, Nick and Frances Collette; brother, Frank Collette; and sister, Frances Ponthieux. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, from 5:00PM until 9:00PM. Visitation will resume at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd., Greenwell Springs, LA, on Thursday, June 28, 2018, from 11:30AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00PM. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pall bearers will be his grandsons, Dustin Collette, Allen Quebedeaux, Daron Cockerham, Kurt Ainsworth, Brett Quebedeaux and Blake Cockerham. Honorary pall bearers will be Alex and Ryan Ainsworth.
