"Ann peacefully passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was a native and lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Ann was born on August 30, 1947 to Llewellyn and Emily Jolissaint Fryou and was married to Michael T. Barrett for nearly forty-five years. They have three daughters, Emily Elizabeth Barrett, Catherine Barrett Spivey and Lydia Barrett Ackerman. Throughout her life, Ann was a devoted wife, mother and friend to many. In recent years, Ann enjoyed the company of her BASF bible study group, sharing in the deep study of the Word of God and strengthening her walk in Christ. She never turned down a chance to enjoy the salty air of Grand Isle and making wonderful memories at the family camp. She is survived by her husband, Michael; daughters Emily, Catherine and her husband Andrew, Lydia and her husband Brian; granddaughter Lucy Pearl Spivey; brother and sister-in-law Roland and Elise Fryou, sister Joy Catherine Fryou Prather; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Llewellyn and Emily Jolissaint Fryou, brother Llewellyn Fryou, and mother-in-law and father-in law, Rex and Lillian Barrett; Pallbearers will be Andrew Spivey, Brian Ackerman, Lane Aubin, Al Mouch, Jim Jolissaint, and Russell Theriot. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at St. Jude Catholic Church from 9:00 am to 10:00 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am celebrated by Father Rubin Reynolds. Interment will follow at St. Gabriel Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Baton Rouge, Sharyn Fryou Lithgoe, Sheryl Jolissaint, Mary Margaret and Al Mouch and Elise Fryou for their wonderful care, love and service to our beloved Ann during her last months on this earth. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge and American Cancer Society.
