Born on January 25, 1920 to parents Paul A. Sziszak and Irene Fedor Sziszak, who were immigrants of Budapest, Hungary. He passed away January 17, 2013, 8 days before his 93rd birthday. He served in the US Army and was a pipefitter with Local 198 since 1951. He liked to stay busy by building elaborate bird houses and squirrel feeders. He was very talented. He also liked to work in the yard growing plants, flowers, vegetables and Satsuma trees. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 9 AM until service at 12 PM. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 ½ yrs, Virginia White Sziszak; brothers, Andrew Sziszak and Paul Sziszak; twin sister, Julia Sziszak Burks; sister, Irene Sziszak; and infant sisters, Irene and Mary Sziszak. He is survived by son, Joe Jenkins and wife, Barbara; two daughters, Becky Bass and husband, John, and Susan Mitchell and husband, Gerald; six grandchildren, Jason Jenkins and wife, Shannon, and Justin Jenkins, Jamie Bass Tairov and husband, Giovanni, Crystal Mitchell and fiancée, Kyle Harper, Julie Bass Brune and husband, Mike, and April Mitchell Easley and husband, Micah; four great grandchildren, Rebecca Tairov, Jonathan Tairov, Jackson Easley, and Madison Easley; and his companion cat, Scooter. The family of Alex Sziszak would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Hospice Compassus, especially Shannon and Amy. Also, a very special thank you to all of the staff at Old Jefferson Community Care Center, especially Susan, Jennifer, Marie, Ora, Pam, Terry, Dorsey, Donna, and all of the other wonderful staff who were extra thoughtful and attentive to his needs over the past 2 ½ years.
