Wilma Goins Dodson

Wilma Goins Dodson, age 85, of Bassett, Virginia passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Wilma was born on May 16, 1939, to the late Roy and Ruby Goins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Goins; and her sisters, Darlene Fain and Rita Goins. She worked at Bassett Walker until she was no longer able, due to back surgery. Her greatest pleasures came from being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful cook, especially known for baking delicious cakes. In her free time, she found joy in crocheting beautiful Afghans and dolls. Wilma loved the Lord and her church family at Life Church. Wilma is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Carl Wilson Dodson, Sr. Also left to cherish her memory are her sons, Larry Eugene Dodson and Carl W. Dodson, Jr. (Debbie); three grandchildren, Michelle Arseneault, Christina Blankenship (Chase), and Lauren Everheart (Levi); two great-grandchildren, John Arseneault and Chandler Blankenship; four sisters, Betty Dodson (Jesse), Joyce Justin (Randy), Edna Gallimore, and Jody Giles; and her close friend, May Naff. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20th at 9:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 10:00 AM at Life Church, 200 Whitby Terrace, Fieldale, VA with senior pastor, Dennis Cline, officiating.
