Robert Pendleton Brooks

Robert Pendleton Brooks, age 76 of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021 after a brief illness. He was born on June 14, 1945 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Dillard Brooks and the late Hilda Elizabeth Taylor Perdue. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceded in death by his stepfather; Clyde Perdue, a granddaughter; Saige Bowman, a sister; Mary Bryd, a brother; Wayne Brooks, his partner; Katy Burnette. He had lived most of his life in Henry County. He was employed by AC Furniture as Plant Manager until his retirement. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Mr. Brooks is survived by one daughter; Kimberly Newman and husband, Dennis, one grandson; Justin Bowman and friend, Sharon, one great granddaughter; Braylee Bowman, one great grandson; Phoenix Bowman and one sister; Deane Cecil.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, Virginia from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
