Nellie Inez Hundley Witt

Inez entered the gates of heaven on Thursday evening July 14, 2022. She was 82 years old and born in Bassett, VA on Saturday, June 15, 1940 to Clyde Carl and Josie Louise Hundley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Elands Hundley Parker. Mama was married to the love of her life and best friend Travis Dean Witt who survives. Their 66th wedding anniversary would have been on October 13, 1956. She is survived by her children Robin Fern (Jimmy), Rodney Dean (Mary Ann) grandchildren Callie Inez (Jason), Rodney Dean II, and Sarah Louise, Great Grandchildren Jude Alexander, Cale Monroe, Kate Jaisey, Witten Dean Cole, and Josie Louise Violet-Ann. Mama was a homemaker who enjoyed her family, shopping, traveling, photography, going out to eat and working in the yard planting beautiful flowers and shrubs. She requested that her funeral be private. Burial took place at County Line Church of God of Prophecy cemetery. Collins Funeral Home, Bassett, VA handled the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donor’s choice. This scripture was found in mama’s bible, “Go home to your friends and tell them what wonderful things the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.” Mark 5-19 The family would like to express sincere gratefulness to the nursing staff and doctors at SOVAH Health - Martinsville and Collins Funeral Home for their care and kindness.
