Obituary of Mabel Aileen Wiggins
M. Aileen Marshall Wiggins, 83, of 663 Mica Road, Ridgeway, died Thursday, March 3, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Carroll County on August 22, 1927, to the late Jonah Hezekiah Marshall and Mary Elizabeth Sowers Marshall. She was a graduate of Carroll County High School and worked for Carroll Hosiery Mill before retiring after fifteen years with Home Health as a nurse’s aid. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Bassett where she was Class President-Sunday School Teacher, member of the Relief Society and was a member of the Southside Republican Women’s Party. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Franklin Wiggins; three sisters, Josie Gentry, Ocie Ellen Puckett and Lettie Mae Martin; five brothers, Parley Marshall, Carley Marshall, Marvin Marshall, Salis Marshall and Foy Marshall. Surviving are two daughters, Marsha W. Hoff of Ridgeway and Jackie W. Padgett of Collinsville; one sister, Christine M. Rakes of Laurel Fork; three grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bassett with President Gordon Hodnett, Elder Clarence Hodnett and Chris Hoff officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:45 p.m.at the church and other times at the home of the daughter, Jackie Padgett at 614 Susan Drive, Collinsville.
