Linda Lou Bond

Mrs. Linda Lou Bond, 76 of Stuart, VA passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in Maryland on July 18, 1947 to the late Roland Preston Howard Sr and Martha Rena Peterson Howard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Bond; a daughter, Jennifer L. Horkey; three brothers, Duane Howard, Roland P. Howard Jr, Jerry Howard and one sister, Joan Howard.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and John Rakes of Stuart, VA; two grandchildren, Erik Rakes and wife Amber of Critz, VA, Kayla Rakes and fiancé Payton Richardson of Bassett, VA; four great grandchildren, Collin Rakes, Jase Rakes, Paislynn Richardson and Isaiah Richardson; two sisters, Shirley Martin of Woolwine, VA, Betty Kern of Stuart, VA; one brother, Ronnie Howard of Taneytown, MD.

She was a member of Fairway Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Drive, Bassett, VA. Family and friends will gather at 1:00 PM and the service will follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Henry Memorial Park.
