John Michael Hodges

John Michael Hodges, 70, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Saturday January 20, 2018 peacefully at his home with his loving family surrounding him. He was born March 31, 1947 to Virginia Greer Hodges and the late John Henry Hodges. John was a dedicated member of Fort Trial Christian Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and especially loved spending time with his wife at the beach. He was an owner and operator at Hodges and Co and proudly served our country in Vietnam. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sandra Lee Sowers Hodges; two daughters, Tina H. Turner of Bassett, VA, and Jessica H. Hale and Husband Derick of Bassett, VA; one brother, Mark Hodges and wife Paulette of Nagshead, N.C.; two sisters, Tracy H. Blackard and husband Benny of Martinsville, VA, and Patricia H. Turner and husband Charles of Bassett, VA; and five grandchildren. Visition will be held on Wednesday, January 24 at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett, VA at 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Milford Witt officiating.
