Betsy Jane Carter

Mrs. Carter was born on September 1, 1942 to the late Homer Pilson and the late Patty Harbour Pilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Effie Tuggle, Irene Stone, Gladys Pickeral, Vera Lawson, four brothers, John Henry Pilson, Homer Garland Pilson, Leon Pilson, Donnie Pilson and one stepson, Garland Dexter Carter. She was of the holiness faith and was retired from Bassett Furniture Company.

Mrs. Carter is survived by her husband, Larkin “LD” Carter, one daughter, Teresa Harris Hester (Michael), one son, Troy Randolph “Randy” Harris (Ellen), one stepson, Randy Gerald Carter (Angie), one sister, Patsy Foley, one granddaughter, Julie C. Branch (Bradley), two great grandchildren, Colton Branch and Paisley Branch.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, VA from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM with Rev. Dr. J.D. Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in Henry Memorial Park.
