Bill was born on October 27, 1943 in Peoria, IL to William “Boots” and Evelyn Hill. He married Bonnie Jean Murphy on July 25, 1980 at Jubilee State Park. She preceded him in death on May 29, 2009. Also preceding him in death are his parents and his infant sister.
Surviving are his children, Mitchell Blackaby of Peoria, IL and Monti (Rob) Currier of Dunlap, IL and four grandchildren, Conner and Carsyn Currier and T.J. and Andrew Blackaby.
Bill graduated from Limestone High School and received his Master’s degree from Bradley University. He began teaching math at Limestone High School in 1974 and later became Dean of students. He coached basketball, baseball and football for Limestone and was inducted in the Limestone Hall of Fame. He was also inducted in the Greater Peoria Hall of Fame as part of the 1965 State Champion Manual Baseball Team. Bill touched a lot of people over the years, especially his students and athletes. He bled blue for his love of his Limestone Rockets and Chicago Cubs.
Services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 11am at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Rev. Jack Thompson will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 4pm to 7pm also at the funeral home. Burial will be at Kingston Mines Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Limestone Booster Club.
