Wanda Belle Burton

Born July 29, 1942 in Baxter, Kentucky to George and Ellen (Osborne) Ellis. She married Walter Burton on December 14, 1965 in Eureka at First Christian Church, he survives.

Wanda is also survived by her sons, James Burton of Bartonville and David Burton of North Carolina; daughter-in-law, Penny Gibson of Kingston Mines; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Nafe of Ohio, Brenda Turner of Kentucky, and Faye (Blaine) Petrey of Georgia; one brother, Roger (Anne) Ellis of Kentucky; sister-in-law, Toni Crumble of Peoria.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Janelle Ford.

Wanda worked in the cafeteria at Richwoods High School and then Manual High School for 27 years, retiring in 1997.

Wanda enjoyed going to garage and yard sales, collecting The Cat’s Meow Village and going to auctions. Loved to go on the Spoon River Drive.

There are no services at this time. Cremation rites have been accorded.
