She was born Dec. 8, 1933 in Coffeyville, KS to Herman and Birtha (Fredricks) Buss. She married James Blackard on May 25, 1953 in Shawneetown, IL. He passed away Aug. 12, 2009 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Charles Buss, and three sisters: Rossela Lichtsinn, Ruby Hogan, and Elsie Armbright.
Survivors include one son, Robert Blackard of Kingston Mines, one daughter, Catherine Lambright of Peoria, three grandchildren: Rachel Lambright of St. Charles, MO, Andrew Lambright of St. Louis, MO, Aaron Lambright of Peoria, and two brothers: Leroy (Alma) Buss of Plano, TX, and Kenneth (Martha) Buss all of Dallas, TX.
Vivian was a Homemaker and a member of the Bartonville American Legion Post 979 Ladies Auxiliary.
Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 8, 2023 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
