Bartonville, IL– Shirley R. Kilpatrick, 81, of Bartonville, passed away at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013 at Farmington Country Manor with her daughter by her side. She was born March 18, 1932 in Peoria to Alva E. and Vestal (Spiller) Faulkner. She married Robert Kehl. She later married Daniel Kilpatrick in Peoria on June 11, 1971. He survives.
Also surviving are 3 daughters, Diane Jones of Mapleton, Cynthia Smith of Hanna City, Karen Kilpatrick of Peoria; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter, Marissa Kehl; sister, Patricia Brown of Peoria; and her rescue dog, Joy. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Douglas Kehl; granddaughter, Danielle Kilpatrick; sister, Alverna McGuire and 2 son-in-laws, Mike Smith and Jim Jones. Shirley worked as a secretary at M.H. Equipment before retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bartonville. She loved to travel, play cards, her dogs, and most of all spending time with her family. The family would like to thank the staff at Farmington Country Manor and Harbor Light Hospice for all of their special care given to Shirley. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013 at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel in Bartonville. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Chapel with Deacon Craig Reaktenwalt officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Memorials may be made to Farmington Country Manor.
