He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; parents; four sisters; and four brothers.
Nyle was a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Operating Engineers Local 649 and owned and operated Nyle Staley Ready Mix, retiring in 2005. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Farmington, serving on many committees and the session until his health would no longer allow it. Nyle was a member of the Peoria County Sheriff's Posse, Shriners, 4-Ever 4’s Model A Club, the Illinois Team Penning Association, Peoria County 4-H Horse Show Superintendent and the Hanna City Saddle Club. He was on the planning committee for the James Spurgeon Equestrian Park (Jubilee Horse Park) and helped cut most of the trails for trail riding.
Nyle was a cowboy through and through, a family man, and possessed a work ethic that could not be matched. His sense of humor was large and ever-present, and he could yarn a story that kept you captivated, laughing, and hanging on for the punchline. Some of his greatest joys came from attending his grandkids sporting events and rodeos, playing poker with his poker club and dancing and listening to music with his wife Judy.
He lived his life by a cowboy code, based in a strong faith, work for what you get, give more than you take, protect your family and your herd, roll with the punches, and have some fun along the way. Some of the best times of his life were spent trail riding with family and friends, and Team Penning with his cowboy buddies. He fought the fight with his heart issues for years and was a walking miracle. We know he is now rejoicing in the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, and our mom was waiting to greet him with open arms.
