She was born in Springfield to Luke and Ashley (Kaufman) Halcomb.
She is survived by her parents, Luke and Ashley; sister, Chloe; brother, Braxton; her beloved dog, Wrigley; maternal grandparents, Pete and Kim Kaufman; paternal grandma, Jayne Halcomb; aunts and uncles, Alex Kaufman, Lisa and David Bova, Michelle Becker, Rhonda and Bill Kissling and Craig Halcomb; she is also survived by many great aunts and uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandpa, Richard Halcomb; maternal great-grandparents, Cy and Mary Snider; paternal grandpa, William Huebener; paternal great-grandparents and her cousin, Mindy Crum.
Mary went to Farmington High School class of 2022 after graduation worked for Pekin Manor as a CNA while going to school. She had dreams of becoming a nurse, a goal driven by her deep compassion and desire to help others. Her warmth and kindness were evident in every aspect of her life, especially in her role as the oldest of three siblings. She was a devoted and awesome big sister, always ready to lend a hand at home.
Mary enjoyed the time spent with her grandpa Pete, especially their peaceful fishing trips to Shelbyville Lake. These moments were a source of great joy for her, and they will be fondly remembered by all who knew them.
She loved playing softball, her position as catcher. She played for many travel ball teams.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 1 – 4 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel, with funeral service to follow. Pastor David Keithley will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Ashley or Luke Halcomb.
