He was born on June 10, 1938 in Peoria, and was raised by his mother Vera Hill and her husband, Kenneth Hill. He married Karen Gay Lensmeyer on February, 10, 1973.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Karen "Momma K" McKnight of Peoria; three children, Troy Allen (Becky) McKnight, Bryan Allen (Courtney) McKnight, and Brandi Renee (Aaron) Fulk; three grandchildren, Rylan McKnight, Kaelyn McKnight, and Jade Fulk; and his grand-dog, Daisy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jerry worked as a Construction Superintendent for George Hoffman and Sons, Peoria Blacktop, R.A. Cullinan, and last with United Contractors Midwest before retiring. He also worked as a Basketball Coach with Norwood Grade School from 1987 to 2019. Jerry was an avid fisherman, who loved coaching and spending time with his family.
Cremation will be accorded, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
