Curtis (Arkie) E. Richrath, 84, of Lake Camelot, Mapleton, Illinois, died at the home of his daughter, Sunday, April 22, 2012 in Lowpoint, Illinois surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 23, 1927 in Benton, Arkansas. He was the son of Vernon and Lucille (Rogers) Lorton. He married Lois Butler on August 8, 1970 in Peoria. She survives, along with seven children, Gary Richrath of California, Dennis and Wade Richrath of East Peoria, Illinois, Eric Butler of Oregon, Wayne Butler of Pekin, Illinois, Jerry Butler of Florida, and Gale Richrath Mott of Lowpoint, Illinois. He has nine grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherri Richrath, one son, Michael Butler and one sister.
Curtis worked as a pressman for 44 years at the International Paper in Peoria, retiring in 1993. He was an avid trap shooter, he loved to fish and hunt. He was a master gardener, and loved birds, raising pigeons. He was a member of Our Saviors Chapel in Peoria. The family would like to thank the OSF Hospice Team for the loving care they gave.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Chaplain Chuck Wilcox will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior the services on Thursday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
