Shirley Inez Wood

Shirley Inez McCulley Wood, 78, born April 20, 1946, of Rosemark, TN went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 6, 2024. She was a loving, devoted wife to Melvyn and a mother to Lee and Mike. She was a dedicated servant at church where she served as an elder and treasurer for over 30 years. She also enjoyed tending to chickens, cows, and horses, and cutting grass on the farm.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Opal McCulley, sister Mary Frances McCullar, and In-Laws, Hubbard and Edith Wood. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Melvyn; sons Lee Wood (Debbie) and Mike Wood (Brenda); Grandchildren, April Wood (Eric Burress), Matthew Wood, Shawn Davenport (Meleney), Josh Wood, Kelsey (Dustin) Goode. Great-grandchildren: Brantley Burress, Harper Burress, Victoria Young, Dawsyn Bryan, Dalton, David, Kaisley Goode, Addy, and Cooper Wood. Two Great-great grandchildren Leighton Young, and Haisley Thomas.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, October 9 at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN. The funeral service will be held at Pleasant Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 9251 Brunswick Rd, Millington, TN with visitation at 2:00 pm and services at 3:00 pm. Burial will take place at Mudville Cemetery adjacent to the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to The National Kidney Foundation in memory of Mary McCullar or to Pleasant Union CP Church.
