On August 31, Ray Wayne Stewart, aged 68, fell asleep and woke up in the presence of Jesus. Born September 27, 1953, Ray’s life was full of hijinks and fun. He attended Wisconsin Lutheran College and graduated from the University of Memphis. He also graduated from Memphis School of Radiology and went on to work nights at LeBonheur for 20 years until he retired. He quite liked retired life and loved being surrounded by his grandkids- Molly Mae (11), Eva Marie (11), Kiley Skye (9), Timothy Titus (9), Elias James (6), Jimmie Wayne (4), Benjamin Wayne (2 months).
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, James Randall Stewart and Marjorie Jean (Carlson) Stewart, and his sister Jean Stewart Copeland.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Kaye Maxine (Amsden) Stewart, his children, Nathan Stewart (Leslie), Rebecca Stewart (Jennis), Elizabeth Stewart (Jimmie), and his grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Dennis Stewart (Barbara, deceased), Ruth Stewart, Richard Copeland (husband to Jean), and Judith (Judy) Stewart Childress (Jerry), and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
A visitation for Ray will be held Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A committal service will occur Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:05 AM, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133.
