She was born to the late Jesse and Stella Bishop on September 15, 1946 in Whiteville, Tennessee. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Gwen Marie Rogers; and her sister, Shauna Roy.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Barry Rogers; her son, Kevin Rogers; her brother, Charlie Bishop; and her sister, Dianne Herrera (Jose).
Mary grew up in Cordova, Tennessee and graduated from Germantown High School. She was proud to be a full-time wife and mother. Mary was a dedicated member of Cordova Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was a long time Sunday School teacher for generations of children and adults. She was also a faithful organizer of church gatherings and socials. In the last 15 years of her life, Mary was inspired to write poetry, authoring over 50 poems, which she shared with her church family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, January 30 at Cordova Baptist Church, 1126 C Street, Cordova, TN 38018.
