Martha was born December 24th, 1952 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Lillian and Lawrence Wickham. Growing up in the Frayser community, she attended Trezevant High School. During her time at Trezevant she and a group were afforded the opportunity to sing for the Queen of England and President Nixon. The joy of singing would continue to be a past time throughout her life. She found great pleasure in spending time with her family and friend by vacationing with those dear to her.
She began her working life with Ohio Causality Insurance Company and would work for them for twenty years before taking on a career with Baptist Memorial Hospital East. She devoted another twenty years of service to Baptist Memorial Hospital East.
She was a member of North Frayser Baptist Church and later transferred to Journey Church to worship with her beloved family.
She is survived and remembered by her daughter, Ashley Jean Klutts; her son, Travis Wayne Klutts; her sister, Lillian Marie Davis (Van); her brother, Lawrence “Larry” Wayne Wickham (Carol); grandchildren, Brittney Klutts, Conner Jackson, Hayden Collins, John Brooks; great-grandson, Brycen Lloyd and numerous extended family members and dear friends.
