Martha Campbell Agent, 81 of Bartlett, Tennessee went home to be with her Heavenly Father on August 17th, 2022. She was born to the late William and Bobbie Campbell of Greenville, Mississippi on September 20th, 1940. Martha was loved by many co-workers, friends, and family. She was a 1958 graduate of Tech High School of Memphis, Tennessee. She is survived by her daughter Melissa Viles and her husband Timothy of Bartlett, Tennessee and three grandchildren, Chad Brown of Bartlett, Tennessee, Kassie Lankford of Memphis, Tennessee, and Krystle Viles Krull of Iowa. Martha is proceeded in death by her parents William & Bobbie Campbell and her son Richard Lankford of Phoenix. She was surrounded by her loving family as she took her last breath here on earth.
Martha worked at General Electric for 35 years where she made many friends before she retired. Martha was a Southern Baptist girl and she attended Waypoint Baptist Church in Bartlett. She was always involved in church and loved spending time with her church family. One of her favorite verses was Ephesians 6: 10-23. She always asked her grandson on the way to school if he had put on his Armor of God and if not, would put it on with him. She loved to be outside working in her garden or just enjoying the nice day on the patio. Whenever her grandson would pick her up for her doctor appointments, she would always be sitting outside waiting for him enjoying the nice, sunny days. She loved sweets and would get so excited when she would get to go get a milkshake from chick fil a after her doctor appointments. She enjoyed spending birthdays and holidays with her family and sitting around the dining room table playing cards. You better not try and cheat around her because she would surely catch you and call you out on it. She took up a love for sports (especially soccer and basketball) and was at every one of her grandson’s games. She was the team grandma and loved the boys on that team as if they were family, but they knew to behave around Ms. Martha. She loved to shop. Every time her family visited, she was always telling them about something new she ordered from the TV. She had a sassy personality bigger than any firework you’ve ever seen, so no moment around her was ever dull. Next time you see one, think of her.
Martha was full of life and love and will be missed but remembered by her friends and family. She would not want tears of sadness, but tears of joy as she is happier now than she has ever been. Although her family’s hearts are heavy, they find comfort knowing that she is not suffering anymore and that she is in heaven rejoicing with her son Ricky Langford and other friends and family who have gone before her.
A visitation for Martha will be held Monday, August 22, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, followed by a Memorial Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens Chapel, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133.
