Lillian Laverne Malito Davis, also known as Sissy and Memaw, passed away at home surrounded by family on September 14, 2024. Lillian was born June 12, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Memphis, Tennessee where she graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School. She also lived in Sugar Land, Texas for many years. She loved Texas as much as she loved Tennessee. She considered both her home.
Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Peter Malito, brother Joseph Malito, sister Brenda Malito, and sons-in-law Noe Longoria, and Richard Simper. She leaves behind her five siblings: Peter (Dianne) Malito, Mary Russell, Robert (Sheila) Malito, Jeannie (Martin) Daugherty, and Lesa (Jim) Schmall; her four children: Margaret (Gilbert) Delgado, Judy Longoria, Jimmie Shaw, and Phillip Gill; thirteen grandchildren: Mallory (Jason) Lee, Ethan (Mackenzie) Weinberg, Grace Delgado, Justin Delgado, Sarah (Patrick) Glennon, Peter (Madalyn) Longoria, Rebecca (Joseph) Preston, Annie Longoria, Clayton Simper, Matthew Simper, Austin Gill, Shelby Bergere, and Aurora Gill; and ten great grandchildren.
Family and faith were very important to Lillian. She was a prayer warrior devoted to the Divine Mercy Chaplet and Flame of Love Rosary. She made many sacrifices to keep her children in a safe neighborhood and good schools.
Lillian loved 50’s bebop music and dancing, antique shopping, tea parties, and old classic movies. She did arts and crafts and had a passion for decorating during the holidays. She had fun playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She pursued training in computers and held several positions administering IBM mainframes and in accounts payables. Some of her memorable jobs were at Federal Compress, Mosbacher Energy, FedEx, and Fort Bend Independent School District.
Please feel free to share your fond memories of Lillian on her page and if inspired by her faith say a Divine Mercy Chaplet or Flame of Love Rosary for her. God be with you.
