In her youth Laura was an avid soccer player. She played at the competitive level for Fury soccer club and also in high school. She attended Germantown High School and was a graduate in the class of ‘96. After high school, Laura attended the University of Memphis and completed her undergraduate studies in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication. After college, Laura lived in Nashville for many years before eventually returning to Memphis to be closer to family. She pursued many different careers in her life. She was a restaurant manager, insurance agent, and most recently, a customer service supervisor at Barrett Distribution. One of Laura’s favorite times of the year was the holidays. She decorated for every occasion and many times had her Christmas tree up by Halloween. She enjoyed making holiday treats with her nieces and nephews, many times taking on that daunting task all on her own. Along with her family, Laura loved her fur babies Rosco and Ranger. They meant the world to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher Schwindt, Debra Schwindt Frulla; step father, Samuel Frulla and her brother, Daniel Woodard.
Laura is survived by her sisters, Melissa Sumner (Chris), Christi Phillips (Mike); brothers, Jason Frulla (Michelle), Jeremy Frulla, Grant Frulla, Chris Schwindt (Lindsay); step mother, Pam Schwindt; nieces and nephews, Miles Craven (Kate), Shelby Edwards, Wyatt Edwards, Mason Edwards, Roland Meadows, Casey Phillips, Brayden Edwards, Samuel Sumner, Greer Powers, Debra-Diane Sumner, Harris Frulla, Baylor Malcolm, Mabry Frulla, Jane "LuLu" Frulla, Hatcher Frulla, Daniel Schwindt; great niece, Charlotte Craven; her precious fur babies, Roscoe and Rangie and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A gathering of family and friends for Laura will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A celebration of life will occur at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee 38133 with burial to follow in Memorial Gardens.
