Joyce graduated from South Side High School in 1960 and earned a degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Tennessee. She worked as a hygienist for about 30 years, mostly for Bartlett Pediatric Dentistry.
She married Charles Coscia in June of 1962, and they were married for 50 years. She was a third generation member of First Assembly of God Church, where she sang in the choir and ministered to children in various ways, including teaching two-year-old Sunday school for nearly 50 years. Her passion was her 2 daughters and her three grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, and her parents, Joe and Ruth Fanning.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Coscia of Cordova, and Cristen Hall and husband Jason of Oakland; 3 grandchildren, Zoe, Caden, and Colby Hall; a sister, JoBeth Ray and husband Guy of Atlanta, GA; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to First Assembly of God church or FACS at 8650 Walnut Grove Road. Visitation will be from 10-12:00 on Monday, September 16 at First Assembly of God church with funeral services immediately following.
