John Kenneth Howard, 85, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away after a brief illness on April 6, 2021. Just as he dealt with all experiences in life, John managed his illness with strength and grace. On his final day, he was surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and his devoted wife.
John was born April 9, 1935 in Manchester England. He realized a dream so few are able to imagine when he moved to the United States at the age of 20. It is here that he met his future wife. Married for 62 years to Mary Elizabeth Pyron, they raised three sons.
John enjoyed a successful career in cotton trading. He retired as vice president from Allenberg Cotton Company. However, he realized his best achievement in the love and care for his wife, sons, and grandchildren.
John is preceded in death by his mother, Clara Nicholoson, father, William Howard, brother, Peter James Howard, sisters, Christine Howard Travis and Olivia Howard.
John is survived by his wife Mary Elizabeth Pyron Howard, his sister Pauline Howard Griffiths, his sons Trevor (Sharon), Mark (Danna), and Eric (Tami), and his grandchildren Jeremy (Gabrielle), Jessica, and Sophie.
Family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Friday, April 9th at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN. Services will follow at 2:00pm with interment afterwards.
