Jeffery Kent Kloth, age 57, of Bartlett, Tennessee passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023, after a two-year battle with AITL Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma cancer. He was born March 1966 in Dayton Ohio to Victor and Adele Kloth. After high school graduation, Jeff enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served 22 years, during that time he also spent time in the Tennessee Air National Guard. He did a few tours overseas in Korea and Germany. He retired in 2006 as a master Sergeant. Jeff was very proud to have served his country. Jeff worked at FedEx for 26 years. Another job he was very proud of. He was in aircraft maintenance, and his last position there was Lead Mechanic of which he took his job very serious. Dedicated to his company and co-workers. He made a lot of friends during his time in both the military and FedEx. During Jeff's time away from his main job, he owned and operated J & J Lawn and Fence Company. He had several very dedicated clients of which he built great relationships with. He was working towards retirement when he turned 60. At that time, he was planning to continue his lawn and fence company. We've had help from Bobby, Mike, Pierce, Kade, Colby, and Paul over the past two years to keep his dream alive. We plan to try to keep it going for him.
Boating and being at the lake brought him so much enjoyment in life. He was the proud owner of a 29-foot Baja Outlaw named "Out of Bounds". Jeff also owned a house a Pickwick Lake where he spent countless hours at even after his cancer diagnosis. It was he and his wife's happy place. After years of staying at Little Andy's and the Pickwick Inn, which had an 11:00 am check out time. Jeff named his lake house "No Check Out Time"! He leaves behind several boating friends and lake house neighbors that will forever cherish the countless memories on the water and his porch and deck.
Another one of Jeff's passions was deep sea fishing off the coast of Alabama and Florida. He enjoyed power boat racing and poker runs. He attended several events and was a member of the Power Boat Association and Baja Power Boat. Jeff loved to cook and entertain friends and family. He'd watch cooking show after cooking show. Jeff and Justine hosted many Super Bowls, typically with 40 to 50 guests. Jeff's cooking and party preparation was definitely a highlight for him and countless others who were in attendance! Jeff made sure everyone had a good time and there was plenty to eat, and live entertainment provided every year by his middle son Chris! Jeff will be remembered by his friends jokingly as Jeffafafa. A nickname given to him by friend Tom.
Jeff grew up hunting fishing every chance he got. Last winter he went on his last hunting trip on his friend Mike Plunk's farm. Jeff suffered a stroke after his first round of chemotherapy in November 2021. The stroke affected his right side, which made shooting very difficult. But he never gave up. He was determined to live life to the fullest. Jeff was not a quitter and never stopped trying.
Sports was another thing Jeff loved. When his boys were young, he attended every football game they played. He worked the chain gang so he could watch every play they made on the football field. He worked a lot but tried to attend as much as he could. He also got to attend some of the grandkid's games and triathlons. He was very proud of their accomplishments.
Jeff was a very good handyman. He could build or fix anything. His backyard is filled with things that he built and put together. When he and his wife bought their home, he had a pool installed and built a big deck around it. Countless hours were spent with family and friends in the pool and on his deck. When his wife traveled every summer to see her family. He would surprise her with projects to make the patio and decks enjoyable and garden boxes to make gardening easier for her.
Anyone that knew Jeff knows how much he loved and adored his wife, Justine. He always did everything he could to make her feel loved and special. His bouquets of flowers and drives to her salon to give her a hug and a kiss before he went to work will forever be missed. These memories will never be forgotten.
Jeff leaves behind his beloved wife of 28 years, Justine. Three sons, Mike, Chris, and Justin and a daughter in law Erica. Seven grandchildren; Pierce, Kade, Hyde, Ryder, Hayden, Randilyn and Carson. Five siblings and their spouses; Richard, John (Sandy), Terry (Susan), Kim (John), Kelly (Kim) and several nieces, nephews and in-laws.
