Jim P. Kelly, 74, of Bartlett, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2022, surrounded by family. Jim was born April 24, 1948, in Anderson, Indiana to the (late) Otis and Betty (Prewett) Kelly. He graduated from Alexandria-Monroe High School in Alexandria, Indiana, and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Jim had a long sales career in the oil industry, working at Commercial Lubricants in Houston, Texas; Coastal Unilube Inc. in Memphis; and Warren Oil Company, Inc. in West Memphis, Arkansas.
Survivors include Leslie (Lyon), his beloved wife of 43 years; three children: Elizabeth (Troy) Austin of Brownsburg, Indiana; Erin (Colt) Mitchell of Memphis, Tennessee; and Douglas (Annie) Kelly of Spokane, Washington; sister Karen Lehman of Anderson, Indiana; and five grandchildren: Ashley and Katelyn Austin, Peyton Mitchell, and Jace and Riley Kelly.
A visitation will be held on January 5, 2023, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, Tennessee. The visitation will be followed at 3 p.m. by a celebration of life service.
In lieu of flowers, the Kelly family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
