Frankie "Jean" McClain, 78, responded to her liver diagnosis 2 weeks ago, "I'm ready to be with Jesus, my Lord & Savior." She was born in Salem, KY on 4/30/35, died in Memphis, TN 9/19/13. She was the daughter of Samuel Shelby and Frankie Lindley Goad, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bill "Bear" McClain, 2 sons, Mike McClain & Ronnie McClain & daughter-in-law, Lyla McClain. Sisters: Cindy Shriver, Judy Cawthorn, Janet Crossnoe, & Peggy Baker, 5 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren. Jean was retired from Memphis City Schools and was an avid student of God's Word and long-time member and Sunday school teacher of Broadmoor Baptist Church. Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Visitation at 12-2pm and the funeral at 2pm. Burial will be at Pleasant Site Cemetery near Selmer, TN on Sunday at 3pm. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
