David Allan Creasy was born in Frayser Memphis on July 28, 1951, the second son to his parents Thelma Massey Creasy and Freeman Howard Creasy. He graduated from Frayser High in 1969, and then attended college at Memphis State. While at University he organized against the Vietnam war, getting involved in local activism.
David worked hard his whole adult life in construction and logistics to provide for his family and live a full life. He worked from the beginning of Industry General Corporation through the years of growth into a multiple million dollar engineering, manufacturing, and construction company. At FKI Logistex, David served as Director of Engineering for Package Handling and Airport Baggage Handling Systems. Later, David worked for IPPR, Beijing, the largest engineering firm in China where he was the Project Manager for International Projects. He was especially proud of his current on-going project at Christman Co., working with a team to bring a new FedEx facility to Memphis with office space, state-of-the-art package sortation infrastructure, signaling a significant step forward in modernizing the FedEx World Hub.
He lived in China for five years and enjoyed travelling to experience new cultures. After marrying Sara in 2013, David and she enjoyed many pleasant vacations to different places such as China, Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Washington D.C. etc. He also loved maintaining his classic 1957 Buick, winning many awards for car shows in the area which he displayed proudly. He will be remembered for always being available to offer advice and handy to fix problems around the house for his adult children.
David had been repeating the funny joke that he and Sara bought the cage and attempted to catch the rabbit that ate up their cantaloupe plants. They placed the fresh baby carrots near and in the cage during night time. To their excitement, they found out that a rabbit was caught. Sara carried the vibrating cage to David's pickup truck and they planned to drive to the forest for life liberation of the rabbit. Sara was trying to place the cage onto the back seat. Suddenly, the cage door unlocked and fell down the seat, the rabbit quickly ran away before their reaction. David and Sara stared at each other and bursted into a big laughter that they did the life liberation on the truck's back seat! As you can imagine, the rabbit resumed its delicious cantaloupe cuisine again.
